Dr Richard Sandford
Richard joined the GRC in July 2013 to work under Work Package 6 of the SEREN project (Advanced Computational Modelling). His current research centres on the development of computational tools to predict fracture propagation and flows in rocks.
Prior to joining the GRC, Richard was based at the University of Oxford, where he obtained M.Eng. (1st Class Hons.) and DPhil (PhD) degrees. His doctoral thesis addressed the thermal buckling response of subsea pipelines on sand. At Oxford, Richard also undertook a short post-doc and held several collegiate teaching posts.
