Devin is a Senior Lecturer in Environmental Engineering specialising in research at the ‘interface’ between engineering, earth and environment including: water treatment, contaminated land, extractive metallurgy, and materials characterisation.
Devin graduated in 1998 with a 1st Class Honours Degree in Geology from Cardiff University, went on to graduate with an MSc in Environmental Geochemistry from the University of Leeds in 1999 and then completed a PhD in Environmental Engineering at the Cardiff School of Engineering in 2003. In 2004 he worked for TRL in their sustainable development team and subsequently returned to the Cardiff School of Engineering as a research associate (2004-2007) working on innovative water treatment; as a Technology Translator for the School’s Centre for Research in Energy, Waste and Environment (2007-2008); and as a senior Research Associate (2008 – 2009). Devin was appointed to the academic staff in 2009 and lectures in subjects including environmental engineering, soil and groundwater chemistry, contaminated land and environmental impact assessment.
Design of novel treatment systems for mine water, industrial effluents and contaminated soils and groundwater; hydrometallurgy and recovery of resources from waste.Connection could not be established.
