RGS Lecture on ‘Carbon Sequestration’
The next Royal Geographical Society Evening Lecture to be hosted by Seren will be ‘Carbon Sequestration’ on Wednesday 18th February.
Carbon sequestration allows carbon dioxide to be stored in geological formations, thereby reducing carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere. Our third lecture in the series will examine the storage of carbon in coal and in soil, exploring the options open for Wales.
The lecture will be presented by Dr Vasilis Sarhosis (Geoenvironmental Research Centre), who will discuss carbon sequestration in coal; and Professor Davey Jones (Bangor University), who will discuss its storage in soil.
The welcome reception will start at 5:30pm in Cardiff University’s Viriamu Jones Gallery, and the Lecture and Q&A will follow at 6pm in Wallace Lecture Theatre. These are located in Cardiff University Main Building, Park Place, CF10 3AT.
This event is open to all and no booking is necessary. If you have any queries, please contact Dr Kathryn Monk on 07990 782 887.
