Opportunities, Challenges and Responsibilities for Environmental Geotechnics

The International Society of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE), supported by the International Geosynthetics Society (IGS) and the ISSMGE British member society, the British Geotechnical Association (BGA), are pleased to announce that the Fifth International Congress on Environmental Geotechnics will be held between the 26th and 30th June 2006 in Cardiff, Wales, UK.
The conference will have as its major theme, Opportunities, Challenges And Responsibilities For Environmental Geotechnics. The conference will feature a number of distinguished guest speakers on selected topics of current interest and contributed papers selected from those submitted to the conference.
This congress, the fifth of a series that started in Edmonton, Canada 1994, Osaka in 1996, Lisbon in 1998, and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 2002, promises to be a truly global affair of prestigious international calibre. Abstracts have been accepted from almost 40 countries internationally from Europe and the Americas, to the far-East. The ISSMGE’s ICEG series of international congresses provides an unique forum for academics, industry and government practitioners to share their findings and expertise, and remains the highlight of the international environmental geotechnics conferencing calendar.
